John has more than thirty years experience in the financial services industry. Prior to establishing O'Connor Wealth Management (OWM) John provided retirement and financial planning services for clients through independent brokerage firms. Through OWM, he has created a financial services firm to deliver unbiased, fee-based (no commissions) advice to financial planning clients.
John works with a variety of clients such as business owners, school and healthcare employees, non-profit organizations and individuals who are serious about creating a plan as a guide for their financial future and that of their families.
John feels that an educated client makes informed decisions and understands the thinking behind the creation of a financial plan. He regularly provides information about the issues and questions clients have through seminars, webinars and newsletters. He welcomes client questions and comments so he can continue to improve the services he provides his clients. John is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University with a degree in Business Administration and obtained his Juris Doctorate from Southwestern University School of Law. John also served as an Adjunct Professor, Finance Department, California State University, Fullerton.
John is active in volunteer organizations that serve disadvantaged youth groups. He is an avid runner and regularly competes in half marathons and marathons. As a father of two adult children, John looks forward to pitching batting practice to his seven grandsons and one granddaughter.
Chris developed his passion for financial planning in college through personal investing and helping friends and family with their own finances. Chris believes that fear can greatly inhibit a person’s decision-making ability and that the best decisions are made through educating his clients in order to reduce this fear.
Chris graduated from the University of California – Los Angeles with a degree in Psychology and obtained his MBA in Financial Planning from California Lutheran University where he completed the education requirement for the CFP designation.
Chris is also an Enrolled Agent as licensed by the Treasury Department and has unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before all divisions of the IRS. In 2016, he became a Fellow of the National Tax Practice Institute and is also a proud and active member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents & the California Society of Enrolled Agents - serving as Vice President for the San Gabriel Valley Chapter of CSEA and Chair of the CSEA Membership committee.
Chris enjoys going to LA Kings & Ontario Reign hockey games, traveling with his wife, Mary, and exploring the world with his son, Carter.
Michael began in the Insurance and Financial Services industry in 1993 helping individuals and businesses design strategies for the employee benefit market and personal insurance programs for individuals.
As an insurance and financial services professional he provides the most advanced and up to date information to his clients. He does this together with his team of property & casualty, employee benefits specialists to better provide our client with an education of the risks they take every day, and how their money works. The result is that his clients are able to make informed decisions rather than having decisions made for them based on opinions.
Mike graduated in 1990 with a degree in Business Finance. He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors Long Beach chapter, Association of Health Insurance Advisors. Finally, he contributes to various charitable organizations in the area including Habitat for Humanity, LA & Long Beach Missions among others.
Larry has been in Financial Services for 12 years after a career as Vice President of a National Retail Chain for 15 years. Larry brings an enthusiastic and energized approach to his clients in helping them maximize their financial security and the efficiency of their money at work.
On the personal side, Larry is married to his wife Wendy and has two daughters Jennifer and Alison. He is currently on the Board of Directors for NAIFA Orange County and is a longtime member of Orange County LeTip and Toastmasters International. A graduate of Tulane University and Babson College, Larry is an active member of the Orange County Alumni Clubs of both institutions. His hobbies include his newly found passion for the sport of golf, tennis, and just about any other sporting event under the sun.
